After living in an apartment for several years, I always get a good laugh when Fall rolls around. Since no one has a yard to show off, it becomes a door competition for who has the biggest wreath and most clever/cutest door mat. Our first year in an apartment, I couldn’t have cared less about having a wreath or a door mat. But, I still remember one of our friends coming to visit, and the first thing he sarcastically said coming in the door was, “Wow your door is so welcoming.” HAHA! To give myself some grace, we had only been there for a week. But, that just comes to show the importance of a wreath and a door mat.
Apartment front door decor
Your apartment front door is the first impression your guests have of your home, so make it look welcoming. There’s nothing more inviting than a cute door mat and wreath. It’s an affordable and easy way to welcome your guests.
I decided to creep around our apartment complex and get a few pictures of front doors I found inviting. Keep in mind, this is mid-August, so most people don’t have fall decor up yet.

I love getting some inspiration from others! Did you find any front doors that gave you some inspiration? Also, can you guess which one is ours?
keep it simple
Sometimes, it’s best to keep apartment front door decor simple. All you really need is a wreath, door mat, and maybe a pretty plant. Some affordable places to shop for your apartment front door are Target, Amazon, Kirklands, and Etsy. If you guessed the first picture to be ours, then you’re right! We got our wreath from Target and checkered door mat from Kirklands. We’ve had the door mat on top for a while, and I can’t remember where I bought it.
fall wreath and door mat round up
I’ve rounded up some fall wreaths and door mats I think would be so cute for an apartment front door…or any front door for that matter!
